jack.jpgYusef Mars: So Jackson, why the name “Lakay”?
Jackson Chery: Well, Lakay Entertainment honestly__ has nothing big to it. It pretty much means “home”. If you’re Haitian, you know ‘lakay’ means home, so it more or less means “back home entertainment”.  When it [the idea] came by, we were just a group of guys, fellas from church, we were thinking about it and we thought that there are a lot of different things that we’ve done in our country. See, I wasn’t raised in Haiti, but a lot of people told me about the country and the different things we are able to do, as Haitians. So I thought you know what? There are things that we can do that are positive, so that society can stop thinking that Haitians only do voodoo, and that Haitians are always stealing
