By Yusef Mars
Yusef Mars: So Jackson, why the name “Lakay”?
Jackson Chery: Well, Lakay Entertainment honestly__ has nothing big to it. It pretty much means “home”. If you’re Haitian, you know ‘lakay’ means home, so it more or less means “back home entertainment”. When it [the idea] came by, we were just a group of guys, fellas from church, we were thinking about it and we thought that there are a lot of different things that we’ve done in our country. See, I wasn’t raised in Haiti, but a lot of people told me about the country and the different things we are able to do, as Haitians. So I thought you know what?
